The braking system is hydraulic so it contains brake fluid which is hygroscopic, which means that it absorbs moisture over time therefore reducing its operational effectiveness. If the brake fluid is not changed, the moisture content in the fluid can exceed the desired level therefore lowering the boiling point of the brake fluid thus reducing brake performance.
KIA recommends that Brake Fluid is to be changed every two years.
